Aerospace testing moves to higher levels

TUV Product Service can now address the higher level requirements of the Aerospace Boeing D6-16050-5 standard.Following recent enhancements to its lightning test capability and successful tests which have been witnessed by Boeing, TUV Product Service can now address the higher level requirements of the Aerospace Boeing D6-16050-5 standard. Specifically, the specification calls for the generation of Waveform 5A as a voltage waveform, with levels of 2000V for landing gear. The test can be applied by either the standard ground injection method or a cable injection test.

The latter simplifies application of the test as different levels can be applied to individual cables dependant on positioning within the aircraft.

It should be noted that for the higher levels, there is an increased minimum cable length required to perform the test.
