Korean initiative receives official endorsementRFI Global Services has received the British Chamber of Commerce in Korea (BCCK) Award for its trade and investment achievements in Korea. Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott among other senior British and Korean representatives attended the ceremony held at the Shilla Hotel, Seoul. 'It has been quite a year for RFI, our international trade achievement was marked by a Queen's Award in May'.'This further award from the British Chamber of Commerce in Korea is especially gratifying given that we are relative newcomers in the region'. 'We are delighted', commented RFI's CEO Stephen Kirk. Colin Forrester, CEO RFI-Korea added: 'We look forward to further developing our services here in Korea and supporting our customers in bringing their products to global markets'. 'The support we have received from the British Chamber of Commerce and other organisations here in Korea has been invaluable in helping in these early stages and we look forward to working with them in the future for continued success'. RFI hosted a delegation from the Korean Government in April for the signing of a memorandum of understanding detailing the strategic investment being made by RFI in the region over the next 3 years. Its cellular test facilities opened in Gunpo, South Korea in June following an investment of GBP 3.6 million providing comprehensive test services for mobile handset manufacturers including LG and Samsung. The growth in cellular terminal manufacturing and development in East Asia is such that 60% of RFI's cellular testing demand now comes from Korea, Taiwan, Japan and China. The growth in East Asia was a primary factor in RFI's investment decision for the region. |
