Welcome to Compliance Engineering

Signal generator and immunity tester come together

Schaffner will preview the new NSG 4070 multifunction test system for conducted and radiated immunity testing at the EMC UK exhibition, Newbury Racecourse on 17th and 18th October 2006. The NSG 4070 is an advanced combination of signal generator and compact immunity test system in one compact unit. The integrated signal generator has a wide frequency range from 9kHz to 1GHz available from its 75W internal amplifier.

For maximum flexibility additional external amplifiers may be connected to cover a wide range of applications including tests to IEC61000-4-6, many BCI applications and using the internal four channel power meter, tests to IEC61000-4-3, IEC61000-4-2 and IEC61000-4-21.

The powerful and simple to use firmware makes the NSG 4070 a complete stand-alone test system for laboratory use.

The internal, menu-based software and test results are displayed on a 5.7in colour display and multiple equipment under test (EUT) monitoring options are available.

Where required, optional remote control software is available for control from an external PC or integrated test system.

A port on the front panel allows simple transfer of test and measurement results on to a USB memory stick for archive or further processing.

Paul Dixon, Managing Director of Schaffner comments: 'This is a very significant new test system introduction for Schaffner and the EMC UK show gives us a great opportunity to show it for the first time'.

'It offers comprehensive testing in a very compact and cost effective package, with a high degree of future proofing'.

'It also adds to the wide range of test products we offer that can be assembled into larger, integrated test systems or complete laboratories'.

A very wide range of coupling/decoupling networks are available for EN6100-4-6 testing and a number of different probes and clamps for RF conducted immunity testing offer reliable methods of current injection and measurement.

For higher power test requirements the Schaffner CBA range of power amplifiers extends to 1GHz at up to 1000W (saturated output power).
