Rock Band 2 Xbox 360 stand-alone instruments for sale

Advanced orders for Harmonix Inc.'s and MTV Games' Rock Band 2 stand-alone instruments for Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 began pre-order sales this week at Amazon.com.The Rock Band 2 Wireless Drum Kit will retail for $89.99.

The Rock Band 2 Wireless Guitar will sell for $69.99.

A Rock Band 2 Special Edition SKU will include all music peripherals to start an instant virtual band for $189.99.

Microsoft this month said that music peripherals for upcoming music titles like Rock Band 2 will be cross-compatible with one another.

The disclaimer follows an announcement from Sony Corp. last week that music peripherals for Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero: World Tour, and Rock Revolution would all feature basic cross-compatibility on the Playstation 3.
The latest in the music franchise will introduce cooperative band play, multiple instruments, and new online modes.

Additionally, all previously downloaded music tracks from Rock Band will be compatible with Rock Band 2.

The title will debut exclusively to the Xbox 360 on Sept. 14.
